Most of us are taught to use pills and ointments to help us heal our pains. Is it possible that there is a more powerful medicine free for the asking? I believe we can heal our pains with a simple thought, word and action. I was given the opportunity to test my own beliefs.
I was roasting potatoes in a skillet with a metal handle. The oven was set at 400 degrees. When the potatoes were roasted, I took the skillet out of the oven and placed it on the stove, neglecting to leave the pot holder on the metal handle. A few moments later, I grabbed the hot handle and burned the tips and the creases on my left hand fingers. The pain was excruciating, as serious burns tend to be. My immediate reaction was to be in pain; and then I had a second thought: “Love myself through the pain.”
I took a second to think about what loving a burn would feel like. Immediately, I turned on the faucet and ran my fingers under the running tap water until it calmed the pain. I then spoke to the burn on each finger, and this is what I said:
“I am so sorry I hurt myself. Please forgive me for causing myself pain. I love myself and I would never want to hurt me in any way.”
I then proceeded to kiss each burn mark that had now clearly appeared on all four fingers and finger tips. Yes, I actually kissed my pain away. I continued this ceremony three times. By then, the pain from the burn had noticeably subsided. I felt in awe, and at the same time, empowered. I was experiencing firsthand the power of the act of forgiveness.
After a short while, I felt healed enough to work on my computer. My fingers did not like that choice and they informed me quite clearly. Immediately as I began typing, the pain and discomfort returned. My burn was speaking and I understood the language: “Are you serious? You just burned me and now you are putting pressure on the burn points? This is the pain you are causing me!” I got the message!
I honored the language by soaking my fingers in a water bowl, and after the pain subsided, I spoke to my burn and kissed each finger tip again, letting my body know I was ready and willing to love it again. I stopped typing.
That was the last time I felt any pain from my serious burn. By evening, the only sign that I had a burn at all was the red marks that appeared across the areas of my fingers that experienced the worst of the burn. The pain was gone.
If we are to heal, we must relearn how we treat our ‘self’ through the language of love and honor. The simple act of forgiveness takes us right where our bodies are asking us to go. All we have to do is enjoy the experience.
I believe we each hold a power that is waiting to be recognized. I am recognizing and honoring the power within me to be able to heal myself.

Incredible! I have in the past experienced several severe burns during emotionally charged times in my life. Every time I ever burn myself even slightly I stop to pay attention to what is going on, what anger am I supressing? Am I ungrounded? Unfocused? Worried or Anxious. If I take the time to listen the pain goes away very quickly. I am making an effort not to need the warning!!
Hi!
I would say 'ditto' to the above comment, same thing happening with me too.
It's not just burns, please add 'jamming fingers, knock on the head, clumsy tripping, slip on stairs, butter fingers etc. to the list. Paying curious and earnest attention to the pain certainly matters.
I would also wonder if it was 'a wrap on the knuckle' sort of punishment for lack of focus, or a misplaced anger or an unkind thought, some guilt or regret of an impulsive action.
I have also done what Linda did and have healed some burns and bruises with apologies, loving words and have healed them without scars too.
Thanks to Linda, I got to know about Tissue Salts. And tissue salts Silicea and Ferrum Phos have been helpful at healing my keloid scars from some earlier times.
Agree that sincere Forgiveness is the secret.
Thank you for the posts.
I agree wholeheartedly. Any inflicted pain can be healed (or at the very least help the healing process) by sending loving thoughts to one's self. I use this method with my grandchildren now and can often move through a painful fall or bruise with a few loving thoughts, words and kisses... It makes sense now why a mother's kiss is so powerful! :) Thanks for sharing. We are all here to help one another heal. Your words are very powerful and healing.
Hello! Sounds intriguing! Usually it's an Ouch! Ahhh! or a Grrr! Ugh! Damn! Owww! More of an angry response rather than a caring one. Just plain curious to know from Linda and others what phrases you folks use to heal those burns and bruises and pain. :);):)Wish to give it a try. Genuine query. Not skeptical, never tried this before, that's all.
hi!Linda,
Wish to add support to all the above comments. Here's another view to why there is a need to pay attention to pain, loving thoughts and forgiveness - i think, it is to bring back our focus to the present fully and remain in the 'now'. It (pain) could persist or recur/relapse until certain exploration of ourselves/some self-introspection (stored emotions)is done and the appropriate learning is understood.
Very often we (i include myself) see it as an accident or blame something or somebody, dismiss it with a painkiller, get agitated, be angry, have self-pity,or even enjoy the fuss! But very rarely do we give it the appropriate attention it needs - our own contribution leading to the situation.
It seems like being mindful of our choices every moment is primary, and will be the game-changer to healing and healthy living.
Thank you Linda for all these posts on the blog.Good wishes to you.
Thank you for your insightful comments. I agree with you completely.
For the comment above asking what words I use to heal an injury, pain or burn.. I always begin with: "forgive me for hurting myself. I love my hand" (body, finger.. whatever is appropriate). I do this while placing my hand over the injured part and consciously send love from my heart to it. I can actually feel my body respond to these powerful words. Miracles are possible with a little help from trusting we have the power to heal ourself.
Hello! Hmmm! It sounds a bit awkward to say all those loving words to myself! But will give it a try. No harm! Rather, a big deal isn't it, when it helps to heal!! Thank you for the reply.
When healing words become most comfortable (and painful words are more discomforting), you will know you are on your healing path! :)
hi! good day!
Probably you are already familiar with the work of cell biologist Dr. Bruce Lipton and his book The Biology of Being.
I just came across a talk between Dr. Bruce Lipton and Dr. Wayne Dyer (see links below) that resonates a lot of what you have been writing and explaining all along!!!

Awesome talk by Dr. Bruce Lipton!
Our thoughts and choices certainly matter in our healing, without a doubt!!
Thank you!
Thank you so much for sharing this information. I have not heard of Dr Bruce Lipton.. I will certainly check it out. I appreciate the links.
hi!
The works of Dr. Bruce Lipton , Dr. Candace Pert, and others on quantum physics are fascinatingly great and awesome information, adding a lot of support to the work you have been doing all along, to all energy healers and vibrational healing!!
There's lots more articles and talks apart from what is mentioned in the above comment.
Very very Interesting!
Hi again!
Dr.Bruce mentions misconceptions, epigentic control, placebo effect, nocebo effect, etc.
He also mentions that we can re-write the records in our sub-conscious mind! - Is this what you meant when you talk of 'layers unfolding' with the help of flower essences and 'forgiveness' and 'love' replacing/converting the old energy!?
Superb wisdom!
Thank you for sharing your knowledge.
hi again!
Here in the link below Dr.Bruce Lipton explains more of his research on stem cells and quantum physics and the invisible magnetic field (called spirit/god/????)

More power to energy healing!!
Yes... I believe that we can actually change the DNA cells by changing our thoughts, words and actions consistently. DNA is a pattern... it is within our power to re-pattern ourself, which ultimately will help our cells shift and change with us. As we heal, some cells are ill and its best to flush them; others are healable and need to be reprogrammed. Each layer helps us see who we have become so we can then choose who we want to be now.
A lot of our programming comes from our very early childhood beginning with conception. A lot comes through the DNA that is passed down through generations. This is not who we HAVE to be.. we are free to change ourself in any moment. Layers help us see what is in need of changing.. one layer at a time.
I hope this answers your question.
Good evening!
Just wanted to share my thanks with you, Dr. Bach and Rescue Remedy for healing a deep nick on my finger while cutting a Pumpkin with a sharp Chef's knife.
Two drops of RR on the cut stopped the bleeding instantaneously!!! Also took a couple of drops internally too.
And absolutely no scar or pain, believe me. It could have been very nasty and messy. But thanks to RR, I could indeed continue and finish the vegetable chopping in a very short while after!
Of course, I also apologized and spoke lovingly to my injured finger.
Thank you for all your posts.
Loving ourself is the most powerful healing tool of all. Good for you!
